The dates and places of John and Christabell's deaths are still unknown.

At one time, John was committed as a recusant, a person who refused or neglected to attend divine services in the Established Church.  Queen Elizabeth, having acted that a fine of lad should be imposed on everyone absenting himself from his church or chapel.  The statute remained in force until 1844.
