David was a member of the Woodsmen Organization.
David Grimes was a farmer and the Federal Census states that they rented a farm.
I have located 3 of David's brothers, JAMES GRIMES, JESSIE GRIMES, and JOHN GRIMES.
There is a family story that tells John was a doctor and killed a man. He then went to Arkansas and changed his name to "Payne." That is the name he and his wife both used for the rest of their lives. He had developed some sort of medicine and named it "Dr. Payne's Medicine or Ointment."
David's father may have died about 1855-1860 in Texas.
David's mother, Martha or Mary, may have died on 8 Aug 1896 near Paris, Lamar County, Texas and may be buried in the Mc Donald Cemetery in Paris, Texas.

it would sure be appreciated if you would please contact me.
