| Family Background |
JOHN B. GROSSO and MARIE E. TASSET
are my Maternal Grandparents.Their daughter, MARY E. GROSSO is my Mother.
| Births |
JOHN BATTISTE GROSSO was born 7 July 1888.There is some conflict as to where he was actually born, whether on ship or in Italy. I myself believe he was born in Italy. The Grosso's came from a small remote village in the Alpine Valley of San Martino in the region of Piedmont, the province of Torino, in the extreme northwestern part of Italy bordering France.
John is the son of
FRANCESCO PIETRO GROSSO or [GROSSIO]
and GRACE MARIA TERESA ANDRINA.

John became a naturalized citizen at the age of 39 years on 9 November 1927 in Denver, Colorado.
Since Marie had lost her U.S. citizenship when she married John, she took an Oath of Allegiance on 27 July 1942 to regain her citizenship back.
Family tradition tells about John starting out as a dairy farmer. John later became engaged as a self-employed person as a "Broker" in Real Estate. He held the Number 2 Colorado Real Estate license. The name of his Real Estate Company was "Grosso Realty."
The thing I remember the best about him is that he loved to bet on the dog races. He also loved fishing and Western movies.
My cousin, Chuck, has shared with me his memory of Marie's favorite song being "Beautiful Dreamer." She would always comment, "I just love this song!" when she would hear it. I have included the words and music to "Beautiful Dreamer" as a special Honor and Memory of her.
Chuck also relates that her favorite movie stars were "Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy" when they acted together. Her favorite TV show was "Perry Mason." She never missed an episode!
He also remembers our grandmother as being the "World's Best Cook!" (Leave it to a "man" to remember that! *Smile*)
I remember them both as being very kind, unselfish, and loving people. They were always very devoted to their children and grandchildren. They are truly very much missed by all their grandchildren.
