Parker family tradition has it that JAMES PARKER
was born in Connecticut in 1752.His parents names are still unknown.

ANNA DOTY was born Dec 1765 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey. She is the daughter of SAMUEL DOTY and

The date of James and Anna's migration to the State of Kentucky is not known. It is believed that all six of their children were born there which would have made it before 1781.
Family tradition tells they then migrated to Ohio in 1803. There is evidence that they may have lived in Butler County, Ohio.
They migrated by wagon to Crawford County, Illinois about 1816.

James and Anna were married in 1780-81, probably in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.

The number of children that were born from their marriage is still unknown.The children that have been located so far are:
1. JONATHAN PARKER
It is believed that he was the first child.He was born 20 Nov 1781
His birth occurred seven years after the first permanent settlement, Harrodsburg, had been established in the State of Kentucky.
At that time it was known as District of Kentucky, a part of the State of Virginia.
It has been reported that Jonathan's birthplace was Nelson County, Kentucky. Since Nelson County was not formed until 1784 and the area was then a part of District of Kentucky, a part of Virginia, his birthplace would more likely be described as Jefferson County, District of Kentucky.
Jonathan married
(1) Mary Newman on 25 May 1804
in Nelson County, Kentucky.
They had 7 children.(2) Mary Helpingstine.
They had five children.
Jonathan died 27 August 1847 in Crawford County, Illinois
at the age of 65 years.He's buried in the Jones Cemetery in
Honey Creek Township in Crawford County, Illinois.
2. SAMUEL PARKER - The second childBorn in 1782 in Jefferson County,
District of Kentucky, State of Virginia.He married SARAH NEWMAN on 25 May 1804
in Nelson County, Kentucky.
They had nine children.Samuel died in Crawford County, Illinois.
His date of death is unknown.
3. GEORGE PARKERDate of birth is unknown.
Married Sarah Allen in Coles County, Illinois
where they lived.
4. JAMES M. PARKERDate of birth is unknown.

James Parker is said to have been a Revolutionary Soldier, but no service records to this effect have been located in the National Archives as yet.
| Deaths |
It is believed that James died in Coles County, Illinois after 1835.
Anna died 12 Oct 1830 in Coles County, Illinois. She died at the home of her son, George David Parker, near Westfield, Clark Co, Illinois.
James and his wife, Anna, are buried in the Parker Cemetery near Westfield, Coles County, Illinois.
It's been reported that the grave of Anna has a marker (a field stone) on it, but I don't know if the grave of James has one or not.
