After their arrival in the U.S., Jacob and Carolina moved directly to Marion Township, Mercer County, Ohio where they engaged in farming.They purchased some land on 15 May 1848 consisting of 236 acres for $650.00.
They sold their farm on 5 April 1883.
They then moved to the town of Newton in Kansas. There, they purchased a house on 9 May 1883 and lived there for the remainder of their lives.

He died in 1912 in Newton, Kansas.

She died at a young age sometime before 1870.

9. ADAM J. SCHUCKBorn July 1866.
10. MARY C. SCHUCKBorn 18 Aug 1869.
She married John H. Tasset on 12 Feb 1891
in Denver, Colorado.She died 12 Dec 1954 in Denver, Colorado.
She is buried in Mt. Olivett Cemetery.

Family tradition tells that Jacob was raised in Germany and became an officer in the Prussian Army.It is reported that he was an aide to the Czar of Germany.

It is assumed that they belonged to the Roman Catholic Church.

Jacob Schuck died 16 January 1903 at 82 years.
He is buried in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.
She is buried next to her husband.
