After their arrival in the U.S., Jacob and Carolina moved directly to Marion Township, Mercer County, Ohio where they engaged in farming.They purchased some land on 15 May 1848 consisting of 236 acres for $650.00.
They sold their farm on 5 April 1883.
They then moved to the town of Newton in Ford County, Kansas. There, they purchased a house on 9 May 1883 and lived there for the remainder of their lives.

Jacob and Carolina were married 21 April 1846 in the Catholic Church in Kusel, Pfalz, Bayern, Germany.Jacob Mathias Schuck and Carolina Alles were related to each other. They both have some of the same ancestors in their geneologies.
The relatives they shared are:
JOHANN BARTHOLOMEW FETZER (born 5 March 1713) and
ANNA MARGARETHA EYDT (born 30 May 1718).They also share Johann Fetzer's parents, JOHANN PETER FETZER and ANNA CATHARINA (UNKNOWN).
Jacob and Carolina had to get special permission from the Bishop in the Catholic Church in order to be married because of the same ancestry they shared.

at the age of 2-1/2 months of age.
2. JACOB SCHUCKBorn 1848 in Mercer, Ohio in 1873 in Ohio.
He married Susanne A. Studer.
She died 8 May 1912 in Newton, Harvey, Kansas.Jacob died 17 Feb 1911 at the age of 62 years
in Newton, Harvey, Kansas.He's buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.
3. MARY ANNA SCHUCKBorn May 1850 in Marion Township, Mercer, Ohio.
She died at a young age sometime before 1860.
4. MARGARETHA SCHUCKBorn 1852 in Celina, Mercer, Ohio.
She married Joseph K. Zender in Celina, Mercer, Ohio.
He died 21 January 1892 in Independence, Missouri.Margaretha died 15 December 1892 in Newton, Harvey, Kansas.
5. CATHERINE ("Kate") SCHUCKBorn 1854 in Mercer, Ohio.
She died in Newton, Harvey, Kansas.
6. CAROLINE SCHUCKBorn in August 1856 in Mercer, Ohio.
She married Valentine Wourms.
7. LAWRENCE SCHUCKBorn 1857 in Mercer, Ohio.
He died in 4 February 1912 in Newton, Harvey, Kansas.
8. CLARA SCHUCKBorn 1859 in Marion Township, Mercer, Ohio.
She died at a young age sometime before 1870.
9. JOSEPH SCHUCKBorn 1861 in Mercher, Ohio.
He died in Newton, Harvey, Kansas.
10. ADAM J. SCHUCKBorn July 1866 in Mercer, Ohio.
11. MARY CATHERINE SCHUCKBorn 18 Aug 1869 in Jefferson Township, Mercer, Ohio.
She married John Henry Tasset on 12 Feb 1891
in Denver, Colorado.She died 12 December 1954 in Denver, Colorado.
She is buried in Mt. Olivett Cemetery.
