"Jacob M. Schuck"

"Jacob M. Schuck"

This is a photograph of a portrait that was done of Jacob Schuck in 1843.  He was honored in some way by Kaiser Wilhelm and this painting was done in three different dress uniforms.

The script at the bottom of the painting has been translated from German as follows:

The sky may bless my days;
Sorrow may not come over you.
When luck is far away, think of me.
You love a friend with all your heart.
Good luck to everybody ... forget me not.
